Fenland Farmers’ Lodge No.9933

Whittlesey (December & January), March, (February) , Wisbech, (November) and Ely (May)

A need was identified by the Founder members for a Lodge to serve the Farming community in Cambridgeshire, with Farming being the largest industry in the Province, after serious consideration the Lodge was formed in November 2016, with 34 founder members, as you can see from our name Fenland Farmers’ Lodge, it was formed by Fenland Farmers’ to operate within the Fenland Area of Cambridgeshire, it is most suitable for Farmers’ and anyone that is interested in Farming and not just from Cambridgeshire, we also have members from Northamptonshire, Norfolk and Lincolnshire.

We have a membership of 49 and growing, with candidates we have waiting, this will bring our total membership to well over 50.
Second Tuesday in November, December January, February and the third Friday in May.
We strive to present a high standard of ritual while tempering this with having fun at our meals afterwards, we stipulate that our meals must be of British produce Whilst we feel it is important to maintain old traditions, we do like to introduce new elements to give a ‘wow’ factor to our meetings. We like to think that we are welcoming & inclusive and make sure our new members are well mentored & supported. Evidence of this is that we have one of the highest Cambridgeshire rates of visitors attending our meetings – with over 30, on average, at each meeting.
Socially we are active involving family and friends in our events encouraging them to feel part of the Lodge. We are committed supporters to charitable causes – mainly on a local but also a national level recognising that we are an integral part of the local community.
We welcome those connected with Farming and associated industries of all ages, who meet the criteria for membership. We consider membership as a long term life choice & wish our new members to be happy with their choice as well as the existing membership being happy with them. To this end we will provide opportunities for prospective members to meet with a wide cross-section of the membership before the formal process of joining.
